Can you believe it? We are less than 6 weeks away from Gay Bowl XVII! We have tons of exciting things planed for you, and we can’t wait for your arrival in Boston.
First, on Thursday night at the opening party, you will notice a slight format change with the random draw. We are going to have players from each team participate in this process, and will get to draw and envelop with your pod on it. We can’t wait to see what pod you will be drawn into! The Random Draw is one of the ideas from the Competition Taskforce that was created in 2015, and it has been a great tradition for Gay Bowl since then!
Also, starting Friday, as you go to the fields, there will be a concession stand, but also 2 Food Trucks parked at the park for all your nourishment needs. They will all accept credit cards as well, but for your convenience there will be an ATM onsite as well. Games will start up as early as 9:00 am on Friday morning, so make sure you stock up on any breakfast items while you are in Boston, especially to help your get that burst of energy early.
During Saturday, you will notice as the competition heats up, our official photographer will be coming around to take team pictures throughout the day. Make sure you are camera ready by then! He will be taking pictures throughout the tournament, and even at some of the events to document all of the amazing memories created at Gay Bowl XVII.
Throughout the tournament, everyone will have an opportunity to participate in making a music video which is a Boston FLAG Flag Football League signature move! They were even featured on the Ellen show (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_N9-S7-_lg) and one will be created at Gay Bowl XVII! If you are asked to participate, don’t be shy and hopefully you can show the world your dance moves! :)
Then on Sunday, after the tournament closes, the closing party will be at the Royale Theater. It. Is. Amazing. It will be the ultimate Gay Bowl party, and there is plenty of room, and more importantly bartenders for all of your celebratory needs. We invite you to make new friends, and take tons of selfies with old friends, and create the tons of excitement. There are still some more tricks up the Boston team’s sleeves, but that’s it for now, we will update you with some more fun things during the next 2-Minute Drill as well!
